Alain Wertheimer

Alain Wertheimer is the chairman of Chanel, the French luxury brand. He owns the company with this brother Gerard, who oversees the watch division. His grandfather Pierre Wertheimer founded it with Gabrielle (Coco) Chanel, the company’s namesake. Karl Lagerfeld, the public face of Chanel, died in February 2019 at the age of 85. He had been the company’s creative director for over 35 years.
