Andrey Melnichenko

Industrialist Andrey Melnichenko owns majority stakes in fertilizer producer Eurochem and coal energy company SUEK. His first business venture was a chain of currency-exchange booths he started in the 1990s. He then invested money made in banking into the fertilizer and coal industries. Melnichenko’s companies, which employ more than 100,000, have invested some $23 billion into fertilizer and coal production over the past 15 years.
